Artist Statement
“The voyage of discovery is not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes” ~ Marcel Proust, Remembrance of Things Past (1934)
Our daily routine can blind us to changes and realities in the world around us, and the artist or visionary has the ability to intercede in the taken-for-granted quality of the everyday by introducing reflexivity and new perspectives. Artistic works can offer complex ways of thinking that challenge audiences to see the world in new ways.
Framed In Time: A Cinemagraph Series presents a new frame for events of everyday life. Cinemagraphy takes an instant and frames it with a forever binding loop, much like the memories we encapsulate. This series is a continuing reflection of the endless preservation of a moment in time.
